Before Light
In the beginning there were two beings; Uni the Female and her younger brother Vast the Male. They lived together in the darkness of their massive home Space. They became bored of being with just each other, so they created their friends Time and Eternity. Time and Eternity became enemies very quickly, so Uni and Vast exiled Eternity, making him leave to the farthest reaches of Space. Filled with rage, Eternity then created The Void, his home, separate from the world of space. Time then sealed The Void with a slow of time, causing a major time difference in The Void compared to the time of Space. Uni and Time wanted to be together, so they created two new beings; Love and Life. With Love and Life, Uni gave birth to Hope. With all that, Eternity created four beings to help him over take the seal on the void; Death, Chaos, Despair, and Famine. Death and Chaos created Hate. Hate and Despair created Envy. Eternity and his army broke the seal placed on The Void, and set a war on Uni, Vast, and their fellow creations. But Love interfered with Entirety’s plans, making him fall in love with Uni. He then created Rape, and with Rape, Uni gave birth to Loss. Time tried to kill the baby, but Eternity protected it by sending both him and Time into The Void, where there was a massive battle, ending in the Death of Eternity. Loss and Hope wanted to bring Eternity back, so with Life and Love they created the Heavens. Eternity’s spirit ascended in the Heavens, bringing him back to life. then, Uni and Vast stopped the war by forming together with their home Space to become The Universe.
Aftermath
The Universe left behind what is known as the Cosmos, the dust left from the war. There was lots of confusion in The Universe, set by the separation of Eternity’s followers from him. Being in the heavens, Eternity’s voice was silenced and remained sitting on a throne for all of time. The heavens then became home to the followers of Life; the new leader of the Holy Creators. The first son of Eternity, Death, became the leader of the Fallen Creators. Death wanted one thing more that any treasure; to have his father back. Using the elements of The Cosmos, Death gave birth to the first star, Inferno, which then became the home to the Fallen Creators. The remaining Cosmos that remained from the star’s creation circled the star and slowly formed into eight planets that circled the star. But there was no life giving rays of light coming from the star, so Life left the Heavens to seal the star with the gift of light. Thus is how light was granted to the star system.
Slowly, the Cosmos in the Universe began to create more and more stars to light up the rest of Space. The Fallen Creators planned another war to set upon the Holy Creators to regain Eternity to their side. Whomever had Eternity on their side controlled all of existence. With control over the reality of existence, anyone could have control over all of every single aspect of reality and law of science in the Universe. The only one who knew how to control Eternity was his son Death.
Locked tight behind the Golden Gates of the Heavens were the Holy Creators, who readied themselves for the coming attack from the Fallen. After what seemed to be hundreds of thousands of years that went by, the war was ended by the creation of the Creator Order. Order was the right hand of Life, as Chaos was the left arm of Death. Both sides left to their homes when Order sounded his golden trumpet. The sound put things of war and havoc back into peace and tranquility.
Life and Death Embrace
After spending thousands of years thinking of a way to end the conflict, Death came up with an agreement to share with life. Hence forth from his home, he arrive unto her Golden Gates. Death upon the iron as blood upon the spear.
From golden glory’s glistening light, she came as he announced, “Why dark and dreary, dozed our time, might I condemn so many in fear?”
“Be it bruised, and see it fall, might no one know your touch,” Life spoke to Death, nude as her birth.
“Might we speak then, hand to ear, lip to skin; to better involve our pact as so our touch combined, we form such a bond. Bound as we are to our great worlds, immunity to our sins.”
“Enter you not, this holy place He sleeps.”
“Not that I reside with He, but to make that beauty and blood in sweet romance. Ask I that.”
“Off to the world were Time Is not, and I give your body mine. Then we talk as we lay in my bed and in the fusion of our blood our truce to be conceived. Make your Union and say your pact, for be there little time.”
“The Void our home until then, my secret yours, your flesh mine. For I have to give the end of our war.”
They then left the Heaves to the darkened confines of the empty dimension known as The Void. Their presence so changed the bodiless stretches of the world to a pale, crackling, dead, volcanic ground. Sprouted from the life absorbing soil rose immense fields of wheat, as far as eyes could imagine to see. Trees and weeping flowers followed the wheat, along with a mound of earth in the midst of The Void. Ruins of a temple of faded white limestone formed upon the mound. A wreaked road of stone and mud lead form the fields to the entrance to the temple. The light of a sun set filled The Void.
Life and Death traveled the road form the edge of the void to the bed in the temple. The beauty and decay of The Void set the mood for the Union of Life and Death. Here the bed with her turned cold as their bodies became one. The rot and fester of his flesh touching hers made her hungry for more. His teeth pierce her neck, devouring her body, and still she begged for him not to stop. His nails caressed her arms and she pleaded for more as she grew numb. One hand choking her, the other ripping into her thigh, he raped her immortal skin and poured out her blood to the bed the rested on. He fulfilled all her body’s desires, as she filled his. One hungers for flesh; the other for pleasure. When their blood combined in the Union their minds became bound into one, as so their blood did. As so flesh one, and so mind one.
Away from the fires and screams of Inferno, the clouded lights of The Heaves, and the empty, dark, soundless Void, they left to a place all unto themselves in their mended minds. Both I n a new world, made physical of two minds to one.
“I wish to end our war over Eternity,” Death spoke to Life.
“Then how do you propose we end such quarrel?”
“For we to fight, we are left to awake to a continuing cycle of war the next day. Our constant struggle for the blessing of Eternity is simply a fertile fight for victory over one another. Let us end our strife by laying our battle on the hands of others.”
“And who are these others?”
“Living, breathing flesh of conscious thought and reason. Inconstant beings capable of intelligent understanding. Creatures with the ability to choose.”
“The beings Uni and Vast spoke of. Their reason for creation to give breath to lesser, yet greater beings.”
“Then let us create them in our image.”
“Lesser representations of ourselves to fight the war for us?”
“No, something greater than that. I have a wager to place.”
“Speak then.”
“Whose side in this war is truly the righteous one? Which ideals of living is the best lived? Which morals and values are the ones most prefer to live their lives by? That heroes choose to live by. To follow the paths set by you and I. And not only which path they have chosen to follow to their final breaths, but if their choices bring forth victory. Victory in steel and love, battle and worship. We create these beings of Universe, let them chose and decide themselves whom side is to be victorious. Let their fates determine the answer to our conflict.”
“Your gamble is to have lesser beings determine the fate of everything? How can I agree to this? Such a thing to think of is dangerous. Might it take too long and our struggle never resolved. Time may be forever, but forever shall prove to grasp too much time.”
“Compare Time not to the power that is Eternity. For Time is merely the measure of existence, where as Eternity is the possibility of such. And be not so quick to judge what is yet to be, especially when it is the product of the minds of our grand creators. For they are lesser, yet hold power that we cannot limit, nor can we ever hope to hold. There are forces in the Universe that still give some life to Uni and Vast, thus they have hidden things in the dust and debris that is The Cosmos. Secrets and forces we cannot see. Forces that created the stars, along with my home, the first star. Secrets the have dimensions like The Void remain sustained with lack of logic and reason. Secrets that allow us the enter The Void. As a commander to end what you create, I so come to you with a union, and in that union made a pact. A pact to end this war for my father and the secrets he holds. A gamble I have placed with honor to Universe; to make their words so. Do we have a deal?”
Life listened to the words of her other half. Although he was the leader of the ones her kind fought against and was known to be one not to be trusted, in the world of their bonded minds the existed no lies. No way for him to try his trickery on her. She looked to him and grabbed his hand.
She looked at him in his lifeless, rotten green eyes and shook their hands once and said, unshaken, “Yes, we have a deal.”
They then left that world of mixed blood and twisted flesh. They left the world of The Void and both returned to their homes. The planets that circled Inferno had matured and were almost ready to sustain living, breathing, independent life forms. Both Life and Death realized what waited next. Realized that the life forms born with no allegiances nor faiths. The whole reason of their existence was more than to be the tools of a bet set the Lords of the Creators. The reason that Uni and Vast wanted to have such beings to fill the corridors of the empty fortifications of Space was a secret held solely to Eternity; the one who was given the secret by Uni and Vast so long ago.
Dawn of Creation
Life and Death were both necessary for the presence of living life to be created, but to make such life forms required something that was not present in the current state of the Universe; the Creator Creation. Creation could not simply be created by another Creator, but had to be formed by what was known as an Essence. There were a countless number of Essences as there was a limitless number of Creators, and just like the Creators, there was line of power held by the Essences. The first of which was Eternity (who in his present condition was unable to do anything), the second was Time, the third was Light, the forth was Gravity, and the fifth was Velocity. The others all classified as sixth on the list. Even though Time was available to help Life and Death form Creation, it was not as simple as it sounded. The three of them needed one more thing, and that was to communicate with Uni and Vast. To do that, they traveled to The Void, where the met with the echoes of the two; their voices from right before the massive explosion that mended Space with the two of them and thus formed the Universe, the home of all reason, logic, and existence. The voices were that of Uni and Vast calling forth the Dawn of Creation, the moment that their living beings had a hope to be with in the realm of existence. And so with the Lords of the creators, the Essence of the fabrics of Time, and the voices of Uni and Vast, Creation was created as the final piece to the puzzle of creating the beings that Uni and vast wanted to create. Life and Death were that much closer to starting their gamble, and that much closer to realizing the will of Universe.
Trials Birth
For the second time Death stood before the holy, Golden Gates of the Outer Realm, the Final Resting Place, The Heavens. And from those gates came forth his brother’s other, Order. Held in his right hand was a golden trumpet, in his other was a bloody silver blade.
e pointed his blade at Death and from three trumpet sounds he called forth, “Unholy , dark dweller, why do you come to the place of rest and risk a return to your quiet home?”
“To see her,” Death replied with a hiss, “His holy servant. Also, I must ask, how are the scream filled halls of my home quiet? For even as far as here I hear the echoes.”
“Quiet from Her voice of His words.”
“My father speaks not.”
“And that is why She speaks for Him. The silence upon His breath restricts the words of His grace, and our Lady thusly tells us His will.”
“Then She has not spoken His words. You of the Holy are quick to forget of his origin in chains. His evil and blight you so see as a commandment of a savior, losing thoughts of what and who he really is. Acts such as that show how weak and simple minded you all are. From the fires of misfortune he fell in battle and to the grace of The Heavens he was reborn in flesh, but not His soul; for his soul is of the Fallen and shall return when the time is right.”
“The Fallen see not what He has become, nor do they understand what power His presence breeds.”
“I bore of your tongue. Ill words you speak, sick and false. You and your kin will never understand. Now, tell me where she is.”
With seven trumpet sounds, Order waved his blade through a collection of the Cosmos, revealing a portal to the location of Life. Death smiled sinisterly at Order as he walked through the portal. He appeared standing upon the ground of the planet closet to Inferno, Raven’s Sphire. Here, on the ground of Lon Growen, He found Life, looking to the vast plains and immense forests. She was looking at the first of the many worlds that would be engulfed in tyranny, greed, treachery, lies, deceit, and most of all, hope. She saw a world that would be brought to its knees by the evil that was in the hearts of forms of life; the Essence known as The Leviathan. An unseen force that would cripple the souls of many, and challenge all who opposed it. It was the Essence of the soul of living being, to have a balance of evil and good, and whose only opponent was the Essence called Conscience. She saw a new born world ready to face the cancer that was to be brought to it.
“Why have you come to this place?” Life asked Death.
“To complete our Union, and better our pact. To ensure trust within our agreement and make one final request.”
“Give call and hurry, for this place will tire of you.”
“My call is influence, for we need some involvement in their ultimate trial. Four and Four present for each side, both represented by lesser versions of ourselves.”
“Your influence? I cannot accept.”
“Our influence in their struggle. Simply to see which path they follow if given a push. Eight leaders of Emotions; four on your path, four on mine. Eight lords of the Elements; four on your call, four on my command. To have an indirect influence on the worlds of the Universe.”
“You have swayed me; I agree and it shall be so.”
Death looked at the world and asked Life, “What is this place known as?”
“Raven’s Sphire,” She quietly replied, “And I already fear for its existence.”
“Fear is my disciple. You should feel it, surging through your veins as an incurable virus that plagues your body as I stand next to you. You shudder just thinking of the hell to be unleashed upon this world. And there is little you can do.”
“Terror does fill my, but I shall not turn away, for there is still hope with this world, as with the others. Hope for a savior, a new begging. And such hope is not easily lost to the dominions of The Fallen.”
“You have given me an idea. Let us leave out our lesser selves from this world, and leave out some from other worlds.”
“What will happen from this?”
“To test your hope. Leave out the leader of all that is holy and the commander of darkness and have one of the Uni-Vast beings become such through the Trials they face. Let them become Demi-Gods as it were. Let them feel what is to be one of the immortal souls of the Universe.”
“Then let it be so, to have them become… what will they be named?”
“Trials.”
“Why that name?”
“Think. What is a trial? A struggle one must face and ultimately overcome. A hardship that breaks down someone; mind, body, and soul. But when victory is obtained they become stronger.”
“Sixteen Trials on the world of Raven’s Sphire. That seems to little; there are far more creators.”
“‘In death we are reborn.’ Words from my father. Let the Trials be reborn. Let the massive, half beasts, half man be no part immortal. Let them fall to our heroes’ blade, but not to age. Let them prove useful in death; become a tool for our followers. All their energy to be contained between two fingers and unleashed upon the command of their master. Let our heroes use these to further our influence.”
“And so the Trials we shall create. But let any combination of Trials bring forth another; two Trials form to become one and anew.”
And with that, Death returned to His home; Dis. The Center of Inferno and house to The Fallen. He called forth all His brothers and sisters to tell them of His gamble with Life. Although some opposed this deal, they all agreed to follow the words of their leader. Death asked His seven best fellow Creators to create their lesser selves as Trials. And so the Trials of The Fallen were born:
Creator of the Flame, Fire, created His Trial; Phoenix-Felix.
Creator of the Sands, Ethra, created His Trial; Tourse.
Creator of Fear, Horrendous, created His Trial; Horrenda.
Creator of Betrayal, Piosia, created His Trial; Toxicia.
Creator of Sadness, Sonnra, created Her Trial; Sorrows.
Creator of Metal, Steel, created His Trial; Oxyawn.
Creator of Disorder, Chaos, and the Creator of Envy, Eve, birthed their Trial; Vendetta.
Death formed His Trial; Apocalypse. All the Trials were sent to the planet Raven’s Sphire, except Death’s. He willed that he who is worthy would become the Trial of Darkness. The Trials of The Fallen so roamed the planet, with the exception of Oxyawn, who was in the space between the Raven’s Sphire and it’s moon; Deus.
Life returned to The Heavens to meet with The Holy Creators. In the Acropolis Temple where Eternity sat quietly on His throne, The followers of Holy met. The too herd of the wager with The Fallen and that they were to create their Trials. Life, like Death, called forth her seven most trusted of The Holy Creators. And so the Trials of The Holy were given life:
Creator of Stability, Order, created His Trial; Spire.
Creator of Foliage, Flora, created Her Trial; Egalest.
Creator of Love, Worsha, created Her Trial; Loovie.
Creator of Winds, Skie, created His Trial; Rym.
Creator of Happiness, Bliss, created Her Trial; Cheerie.
Creator of Valor, Valus, created His Trial; Valorious.
Creator of Electricity, Shoddra, created Her Trial; Elltia.
Life formed Her Trial; Maiden. All the Trials of The Holy, except Maiden, were sent to Raven’s Sphire. Maiden was to become one with who ever followed the path of the righteous. All the preparations were ready for the next and final step for the Creators of both The Holy and The Fallen to begin their final war; to create the beings of Uni-Vast.
The Vow of Life, Death, and Creation
Life, Death, and Creation met in The Heavens to prepare for the creation of the beings of Uni-Vast. There was a balance that was shared with them; that with out one of them, the creation of life would become impossible. As they prepared to create life, Death had an ace up his sleeve; he had brought his best Creators with him, who had take hold of the Essence Time. Life looked at Death confused. He simply smiled and raised up his hand.
“There is one more thing,” Death laughed, “Time. A crucial part of the Universe. The second creation of Uni and Vast, and the last to know the secret you need to succeed in our wager. Last I checked, he was in tune with your kin. This is dangerous, to have such an unfair advantage in your possession. I wish to level the playing field.”
“What you speak of is insanity,” Life replied, unshaken, “What will come of His fall? With out the existence of Time, we are as still as the void.”
“No, I wish not to kill him. I wish to return Him; have Him meet His maker. Meet the same fate as His makers. Have him become one with His home Space. As the Cosmos are uneven, so shall he be. Throughout all of Space, all the Cosmos, and all of the Universe, He shall be uneven, and the fabrics he so commanded shall also run in a different rhyme.”
Death quickly lowered his hand and his Creators ripped apart Time, and He was scattered throughout all of the Universe just as Death had said so. By spreading Time unevenly across the Universe, he had bought more time to complete the wager. Each planet had a different passage of time than the others. In do this, the wager would take even longer to complete, and it also allowed Death to put his focus into the places it was needed and not waste it by messing with eight different planets at once. It was the confusion and chaos that Death hungered for.
“Now, we can begin.”
And so the Beings of Uni-Vast were given life and were set upon the eight planets that circled the first star, Inferno. It was to the surprise of The Creators. There were different variations of the beings that had been set randomly on the planets. They were indeed superior, but still lesser. For now, the beings were newly formed and it would take until they developed civilizations that the fight would truly begin.
“Deus,” Life said, looking at the moon of Raven’s Sphire, “the conflict shall come from thee.”
“The moon?” Death replied.
“The man. He will rise to be a savoir to his race; the Valkeries.”
“Deus, a man? A man god?”
“Just as the moon holds his name. I have yet to see how the events of this planet shall unfold, but I am hopeful. Deus has not even drawn a first breath.”
“To have him born to the moon?”
“To have him born on the moon, but to look to the planet. He shall take his people to a new land. And in doing so, he shall be the originator of this world’s despair.”
And so Life, Death, and the other Creators watched and waited for the worlds to come alive with conflict, all hoping to have their side claim victorious…
